Cake time in the park

This is not staged! I repeat, this is not a staged picture. Brittany decided to do this on her own. After she was licking off most of the icing, she wanted the "real" stuff!

This is Kim and I trying to light the two candles. For those of you who have not been in our area of the world, it's very windy. That day was no exception. By the way, nothing worked, so we pretended.

Park Party

These are pictures from Brittany's Park Party on the 11th. She had a good time running around, playing on the equipment and eating. It ended up being very hot that day (in the 100's)...yuk!

4th of July

This is Michael making himself comfortable at Grammy's computer. He loves the keyboard and monitor! Michael loved his metal and kept it on all day!
Michael getting ready to be chased.

Brittany trying to catch the blimp.

Brittany seeing the blimp and pointing at it.

Hatch Olympics (Metal Ceremony)

What's an Olympic event without the blimp? This flew right over the house while the events were taking place. And, yes, here's the metal ceremony. Each participant received 1st Place awards with metals, pins and trophies.

Hatch Olympics (aka, 4th of July)

Yes, we are behind on posting pictures as we've had sickness in our family lately. It still amazes me how much your world can be turned upside down due to one small person being sick! Anyway, they are both napping, so here are some updated pictures.

First, the Hatch Olympics. This is an event which takes place every year on the 4th of July. Here the kids are getting directions from us (aka, reading Uncle John's email of the events).
This was the "frog jump" event which really turned out to be the adults doing most of the work. It was fun, though, trying to teach them both how to "frog jump".

Apparently, this is where Brittany is giving Granddad some tips on the events.

This was the "ball bouncing" event, which really turned out to be the "ball bouncing/throw" event. They loved the bouncey balls!

"Snow" DVD

Jamie and I don't allow Brittany and Michael to watch TV (she has no idea who Dora is -- either do I). However, they love to watch family DVDs. They love watching the "snow" one (this is what Brittany calls it) which is from Jamie's sister's family. Brittany even knows all of their names too. Here's a picture of them watching the show. (By the way, they love the Halloween one too).

Flat Stanley...

This past Sunday I had sharing time in Primary, so I had an idea of using Flat Stanley with my presentation (this was a huge hit by the way). I had Jamie draw Flat Stanley for me just a little bigger. On Sunday morning, Brittany and Michael found the poster and just loved it! This is them trying to hug and tackle him!
